DOCUMENTARY-STYLE FAMILY PORTRAITS
Family sessions have my heart. I take a journalistic approach to family portraiture and focus on capturing the intimate connections between family members.
I offer a variety of portrait options, including in-home family sessions, adventure family sessions, planned activity and 'a day in the life' sessions.
My ultimate goal is to capture your family in their element, enjoying themselves and the company of their loved ones. Whether we're at home making cookies and reading stories or exploring on the beach or in the mountains, you will be minimally posed and offered gentle direction to encourage natural, comfortable interactions and real smiles.
I would love nothing more than to help you preserve the everyday magic of your life. Babies don't keep! It would be wonderful to hear from you.
I. INTRODUCTIONS
After you inquire, we will schedule a pre-session consultation. For sessions that will be in the home, it's always nice to have the consultation there so that I can get a look at the lighting and the space. During the consultation, we will go over the details of your session. At this time I would love introduce myself to your child/children. Building relationships with all my clients (even the smallest ones) is very important to me!
II. DURING THE SESSION
My goal during your session is to document your family interactions as honestly and genuinely as possible. I will give you some direction and engage your family in fun prompts and games to allow for natural, comfortable smiles and avoid stiff or awkward posing. We are going to have the best time together!
III. AFTERWARDS
I will curate your images to best tell the story of your family and of our time together. You can expect a gallery of anywhere between 40-80 images. Turnaround time for your gallery is about two weeks from the time of your session. When your gallery is finished, I'll send you an email to a password-protected online gallery with a download code so you can download your images.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION
Wardrobe Inspiration and tips
The wardrobe you select will make a huge impact on the final appearance of your photographs. In general, I recommend picking one or two brighter, bolder color choices supplemented with softer neutrals. Begin by choosing a color palette and coordinate your family's outfits, but try not to match. Avoid logos, text, and conflicting patterns.
what to wear: moms
Dresses are always beautiful because they flatter every female body. I recommend dresses that are longer with flowy, textured fabric.
what to wear: dads
Keep it simple and neutral. Solid shades of gray, white, beige, soft blues and greens. Button downs, henley shirts and soft t-shirts are always good choices.
what to wear: kids
Say YES to simple, classic pieces! If you have multiple children, I recommend coordinating their outfits vs. matching them. Choose one element (such as a favorite dress or shirt) and work around that piece, pulling colors and textures. Comfort is key for happy children!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order prints through you?
Yes! I offer albums as well as archival framed images. Reach out via the contact if you're a past client interested in ordering from your session or inquire at booking.
Can I share the link to my gallery with others?
Your gallery link and download pin may be shared with whomever you wish, as many times as you like while your images are available.
How long do I have to download my images?
Your images will be hosted in your online gallery for three (3) months from the date of delivery. After that they will be removed to save storage space.
I want to access my images again but they are no longer available. What can I do?
If anything happens to your files or you need to download your images past the three-month storage timeframe, your images can be reposted for a $50 fee.
